Description

At Future Fertility, we’re revolutionizing fertility care with AI-powered tools that bring greater clarity, confidence, and transparency to IVF and egg freezing. Our technology is used by 300+ leading clinics around the world, empowering patients, embryologists, and clinicians to make more informed, data-driven decisions throughout their fertility journey.

We are a fast-growing, mission-driven company where science, empathy, and design meet. We care deeply about improving reproductive care experiences globally — and we’re looking for a thoughtful, creative, and collaborative Product Designer (L1) to join our small but mighty Product & Design team.

About the Role
Reporting to and receiving mentorship from the Lead, Product Design, you’ll play an integral role in designing useful, elegant, empathetic, and data-rich digital experiences across our growing ecosystem of fertility products and tools. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering / Development, Customer Support, and Scientific Operations to transform complex clinical and technical workflows into intuitive and meaningful user experiences.

This role is ideal for a curious, early-career designer who loves the full spectrum of product design — from UX strategy / research and flow mapping all the way through to high-fidelity Figma designs. You are also a strong visual designer who gets excited about new Figma features and cares deeply about the nuances of why one design may be better than another — and can communicate why. You are someone who falls in love with the problem, not the solution.

You’re comfortable interviewing and collaborating with subject matter experts (e.g. embryologists, fertility doctors) and cross-functional experts (e.g. data scientists, developers). You’re also great at taking feedback, giving feedback, iterating quickly and thoughtfully, and working in a collaborative, dynamic startup environment where design quality and product impact go hand-in-hand.

What You’ll Do
  • Design & iterate: Dream up and create thoughtful and inspired UX/UI solutions across our products, from early sketches / wireframes and low-fi prototypes, to beautiful, high-fidelity visual designs in Figma.
  • Deep collaboration early & often: Work closely with Product, Customer Support (who are themselves embryologists), and Development to develop and clarify requirements and workflows, explore design solutions, and ensure smooth handoff between Product and Design through to implementation.
  • Support user research: Participate in user discovery / planning activities including user interviews, usability testing, and data synthesis to deeply understand clinician, embryologist, and patient workflows.
  • Refine and systematize: Help evolve and maintain our nascent design system and visual design language across reports and user interfaces for consistency, accessibility, and visual polish across platforms and channels.
  • Prototype and communicate: Use tools like Figma or other emergent AI-powered prototyping tools to visualize concepts and communicate design intent and requirements clearly.
  • Stay curious: Keep a pulse on UI trends, design tooling, AI-powered design workflows, industry best practices, and bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • Collaborate with empathy: Work hand-in-hand with clinical and technical experts to ensure solutions fit real-world fertility workflows.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You
  • Have ~1–4 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or related disciplines (e.g. industrial design, graphic design, medical illustration, human-computer interaction, human factors).
  • Have strong fundamentals in interaction design, visual design, typography, and usability principles across UI modalities (e.g. web apps, Windows apps, reports).
  • Are proficient with Figma for UI design and comfortable across a breadth of features (e.g. component libraries, auto-layout, prototyping, variables, styles, etc) and comfortable or willing to learn other tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Slack).
  • Are perpetually curious and keen to learn more about the full product design process, from hypothesis-driven discovery and research through to dev-ready designs, polished GTM delivery, and post-launch support.
  • Communicate ideas clearly through documentation, visuals, and storytelling in design review meetings, and asynchronously through design artifacts such as UI specifications, flows, and user stories.
  • Have knowledge of agile software development lifecycle processes and methodologies (e.g. user stories, backlog management, design review, UAT, etc).
  • Thrive in fast-paced, collaborative, and ambiguous environments where product requirements, design and impact evolve quickly as we learn, iterate, and grow.
  • Are passionate about reproductive health, scientific rigour, ethical and explainable AI, and meaningful technology that improves people’s lives.

Bonus Points
  • Experience working with AI/ML-driven products or data visualization.
  • Experience in a startup / high-growth SaaS company.
  • Exposure to healthtech, medtech, or similar regulated environments (e.g. Health Canada, AODA, FDA, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with motion design or animation, vector illustration (e.g. iconography, graphics), or micro-interactions that enhance product delight.
  • Interest in UX research, synthesis, and insight communication.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
